About Me

I am a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and registered member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists. I have specialist clinical interests in Autistic Spectrum Disorder, somatisation, the process of separation and individuation, and adoption and fostering. 

Background

I qualified as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in 2013 after 4 years of clinical training at the Tavistock Clinic, London and in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service clinic in the NHS. I have worked in private practice since 2013, both in Hong Kong (for 3 years), and in Reading, UK. Post-qualification, I completed my Doctoral Research and was awarded a Professional Doctorate in Child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock Clinic and the University of East London in 2020. 

Prior to becoming a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist I worked extensively in a therapeutic capacity with children of all ages for over 10 years.

Teaching & Supervision

In Hong Kong, I was an Honorary Lecturer at Hong Kong University, Centre on Behavioural Health, teaching Counselling and Psychotherapy on two programmes, MA in Expressive Arts Therapy and MSc in Behavioural Health. I facilitated an online Infant Observation seminar group with students from Beijing. In October 2013, I delivered a series of lectures to students and professionals on the Kleinian approach to Child Psychotherapy as part of the Sino-British Training programme in Beijing. I gave talks on psychoanalytic child development and therapeutic technique in Hong Kong.

In the UK, I have delivered BACP Stage 1 training in Working with Young People to counsellors and trainee counsellors at Riverside Counselling Service.

I provide supervision following a psychoanalytic approach to therapists and counsellors in their work with children and adolescents. I also supervise trainee counsellors on two IATE courses: Diploma in Child Counselling and Diploma in Counselling Teenagers.
